My current paintings explore fundamental questions surrounding my role as a mother. My six year old son is often my muse. The paintings hover between abstraction and representation demanding work from the viewer to reveal the image at hand. Boisterous and quiet colors reflect the emotional push and pull between chaos and order. The figures are in constant movement yet simultaneously frozen within the painting: a fleeting existence in paint. The paint itself becomes a record of time, secrets of past and present moments.
