Jessie Fisher received a BFA from the University of Minnesota, an MFA from the University of Iowa and studied at the Scoula di Grafica in Venice, Italy, and PAFA. She has been an artist-in-residence at Visual Art and Design Academy Santa Barbara, Watershed and Studio Art College International in Florence, Italy and lectured on her work at the Kemper Museum of Art, St. Ambrose University, the University of South Carolina, the International School of Painting, Italy and GuangXi Arts Institute Nanning, China. She is a recipient of the Ohio Young Painters Prize and founding member of Studio Nong, an international sculpture collective and residency program based in southern China. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries across the country and abroad in Italy, and China. Fisher was a Prof in Painting at the Kansas City Art Institute (2005-2022) and is currently a faculty member at Metro State University in St Paul, MN and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in Minneapolis, MN.
